  • Oudom is a modern café with A/C and terrace at 600m from us on the left, they also have a massage at the front.
  • Davanh coffee, the traditional style, a Lao lady under an old house with a lot of flowers. Just after the first bridge at 2km on our left. She has fresh coffee, tea and often fresh fruits to make juice.

  • Thongna Sky (1km right on the big road) for a drink down the mountains with sunset view.
  • The River (4km right, after the bridge of the big road) for lunch/dinner with Lao/European options, beautiful resort along the Mekong. No sunset view but enjoyable atmosphere.

bike maintenance at Souchitra

bike maintenance at Souchitra

With time we've learned the all process of bike maintenance and repair here in Champasak. We ride ourselves, if you are travelling by bike maybe we can assist you.

Other loops by foot

Loop on Don Daeng Island

Loop on Don Daeng Island

  • Don Daeng Island, 13km, an enjoyable walk around the island. By bike is very bumpy and maintenance would be difficult if a mechanical problem happens.
  • The rice fields are usually very bumpy and sandy or muddy but fine by walk, 13km loop from Souchitra. Nice view of the mountains.

We have a large map near the reception showing the different paths of Champasak.

Mountain hikes

view of Champasak from the top of a mountain

A medium/hard hike, you need to be fit and experienced with steep forest paths.

The mountain is near Souchitra, departure at 7am in tuk-tuk to the bottom of the mountain and return around 3pm. A local will guide you up there for the cost of 40$ per group including transport.

We don't take any commission, this is to help that family down the mountain, but be aware of the difficulty of the hike.
