Clean rooms in the center of Champasak, our purpose is to offer a place for people to slow down and guide you to enjoy this serene ancient village.

20€ per night, discounts from 3 nights stay and for solo travelers.

🪔 Visiting Vat Phou, Unesco World Heritage site. At 10km from us, easy access in tuk-tuk

🚶 Walk​ on Don Daeng​ Island in front of us (Peaceful 12km path in the middle of nature and villages)

☕ Relax in one of the coffee shops around us as Boupha Garden Coffee, surrounded by nature and a 100 years old authentic house

👁️ Contemplation of the Mekong from Souchitra, excellent for reading, writing, painting, and for people on a Zen path as the atmosphere is a good fit to look inside

➕ Cooking class before lunch or dinner, handicraft (learn how to make a scarf), kayak on the Mekong 

🌄 Cycling loop at sunset at 5pm for a drink along the Mekong river or down the mountains. And enjoy the sunrise from Souchitra at 6am


We have 2 buildings :

🌿 riverside and terrace with fan for those enjoying being close to nature

❄️👨‍👨‍👦 bigger rooms on the yard side with A/C for those who prefer comfort and families

Both buildings have the same room standard.


⚠️☀️ From March to May is summertime in Laos (38°/25°), it's better to stay inside in-between 11am and 3:30pm.

The riverside often has a breeze from the river, but if you are not used to higher heat we suggest an air-con room on the yard side.

 This room includes :

  • King Size Bed with comfortable mattress
  • Private Bathroom with hot shower

  • 2 Hatari fans for good air flow

  • Free water refill at the fountain and kettle
  • Cleaning twice a week and laundry service
  • Towels, soap, shampoo (Pantene), toilet paper, glass and umbrella provided 
  • Spacious yard with private parking and CCTV


6️⃣ Our 6 Riverside rooms (5 large + 1 twin) are separated by a partition for privacy. No A/C to keep the riverside peaceful.

This is our second building, adjacent to the other one. These rooms include the same amenities than the fan room plus:

  • modern air-condionning Gree cleaned regularly.
  • larger room and thicker walls.
  • no terrace but an access to the riverside with tables, chairs and hammmocks. Very enjoyable the morning and during sunset after 4pm.


5️⃣ 5 rooms on the yard side available (1 large + 2 twin + 2 family room for younger guests, 3 people maximum per family room).

    🛏️ Our 2 types of room are at the same price of 500,000₭ per night (23$ or 20€)


    ✨ Discounts : 

    • from 3 nights in a row : -50.000₭ per night.
    • >10 nights : -100.000₭ per night.


    🧘 Extra discount (can be cumulated) :

    • Solo traveler : -50,000₭/night

    Paiement :

    • Paiement in cash at check-in, an ATM and a bank are available at 300m on our right.
    • Paiement by card possible but only by using an app like Ezykip, Loca or Moreta and scanning our Qr code. 


    Rate : 1$ ≈ 21,000₭


    Check-in : from 2pm. You can drop your luggages if you arrive early. Message us on Whatsapp for late check-in after 5pm.

    Check-out : 11am. 


    Late check-out : you can leave your bags at the reception for free. Depending on availability you can check-out at 3:30pm the latest for 100,000₭ extra.

    Breakfast is not included but available just in front of us at Boupha Garden Café (7:30am-9pm) or at Homemade 200m on our left from 6:30am.

    Other restaurants are within walking distance (600m radius).

    Average cost per meal in Champasak : 3-5$ for local food and 5-10$ for European food.

    How to go to Champasak

    Use the

    Use the "Xanh SM" app to book an EV Taxi

    ⚠️ there is a gasoline shortage in Laos at the moment (March 2026) so prices may be up a bit. 

    From Pakse to Champasak :

    • 3$/person for a local shared "Songthaew" (big tuk-tuk): Available at Dao Heuang Market in the center of Pakse. Departures every hour from 9am to 2pm. It takes about 50 minutes depending on how many stops they make. Cheap and local. They come straight to Champasak without the need of river crossing.


    • 10$/person for a modern Mini-Van with Green Paradise: they can pick you up at your hotel in Pakse from 8:30am. The trip includes a boat crossing (scenic view of Champasak) as the van goes on the other side of the Mekong to the 4,000 Islands. Around 2h trip. A tuk-tuk is usually at the top of the pier for the last 2km (≈2$).


    • 20$/group for a private EV Taxi: Book through the Xanh SM app (similar to Uber) or call their phone number (021 988 888). It takes 45 minutes, flexible and comfortable. 


    • ≈50$/group for a private boat: Available to book with Yves from Miss Noy Motorbike or Alec from Easy Post in Pakse (French speakers). The trip takes about 2 hours. Departure anytime.


    From the 4000 Islands to Champasak : 

    • Book a ticket directly at the Green Paradise office on Don Det or Don Khone for best reliability and price. They should include the boat crossing to Champasak. A tuk-tuk is usually at the top of the pier for the last 2km (≈2$)

    The village is small and can be explored by foot, for the ancient temples we suggest taking a tuk-tuk :

    • ≈300,000₭ return for a tuk-tuk to go to Vat Phou, count 100.000kip extra per other ancient temples.


    The 3 ancient temples of Champasak :

    • Vat Muang Kang (7km paved, beautiful small path along the Mekong river for a small walk down to a basketry)
    • Vat Phou (10km paved)
    • Hong Nang Sida (12km paved/gravel, smaller site than Vat Phou but beautiful energy)


    🚲🛵 For bicycles and bikes they get harder to find in Champasak, the most reliable way is a tuk-tuk. Summer (March to May) is too hot for cycling.

    • Enjoyable 12km loop around half the island on a flat and easy path. (≈3h walking slowly)
    • Best time to go is 1:15pm and come back at sunset. Or 8:30am during summer (March to May) as it gets too hot the afternoon.
    • Beautiful sunset view from La Folie Lodge around 5pm. Nice for a drink. They also have a swimming pool for 10$. The boat driver can bring you back to Champasak from there at 5:45pm, or anytime earlier. 


    We can help you call a local boat driver to get you to Don Daeng Island in front of Souchitra. 100.000₭/person (5$) return. Crossing from 200,000₭ minimum.

    No commission added, boat crossing takes ≈15min.


    🚶‍➡️We suggest walking to slowly absorb the energy of Champasak. Fresh air, vast view, a very serene feeling.

    From Champasak to Pakse

    • 3$/p : 2 songthaews (local bus) pass by the front gate in-between 6:30am and 7:15am. 50min to Dao Heuang Market in Pakse. No booking required, just wave.
    • 10$/p : Mini-van Green Paradise with tuk-tuk and boat crossing. Departure at 11:30am, tickets at Khamphouy.
    • 25$/group : a tuk-tuk is 500,000₭ up to Pakse Airport ✈️, anytime. Or a private car with A/C is 600,000₭. We can help you book one.
    • 40$/group for a private boat, departure anytime, book the day before 


    From Champasak to the 4000 islands : 

    • Tickets at Khamphouy at 200m to the right of Souchitra. 15$ all included with 2 boats and modern mini-van from Green Paradise. Departure at 8:15am, 3h trip. There is another departure at 12pm but a bit more expensive and you need to check for availability. You can book there the day before.


    Other destinations : Green paradise tickets are available at Khamphouy on our right. Or you could get to Chitpasong bus station in Pakse directly for the best prices to Savanakhet or Thakhek. About Vientiane and Luang Prabang you can book a flight with Lao Airlines website.


    Private transportation from Champasak:

    • Private car with driver and A/C : 40€ to Chong Mek border 🇹🇭 or 100€ per day to do the Boloven loop ☕​
    • Private spacious boat for sunset 50$ (with Saythong guesthouse)
    • Private boat Champasak - Pakse ≈40-50$ depending of the size of the boat

    We (2 friends) took over and renovated Souchitra from beginning of 2023, we've been living here ever since (see our story). Champasak village is a good fit for travelers looking to slow down, an hidden paradise with everything needed to live peacefully 🕊️
